Zinc sulfate heptahydrate, also known as zinc vitriol, goslarite; molecular formula: ZnSO4·7H2O; molecular weight: 287.54
Appearance and property: colorless orthorhombic crystal, particle or powder, odorless, astringent.
As the main raw material to manufacture charlton white and zinc salt, zinc sulfate heptahydrate can be used as printing and dyeing mordant, wood and leather preservative and pharmaceutical vomitory, and also be applied to prevent disease of fruit tree and nursery and manufacture cable. It is also a significant auxiliary raw material to produce viscose and vinylon fiber. Besides, it is also applied to electroplate and electrolysis industries.
